Israel and Bangladesh

Many Islamists in Bangladesh go through life without applying any common sense!

Yesterday, Israel’s Foreign Ministry posted a greeting message on their Facebook fan page on the occasion of Eid for Muslims. About 20% of Israel’s population is Muslim, and they enjoy equal opportunities in education, economy, and empowerment in that country. There are also no barriers to practicing their religion. Therefore, it can be said with 100% certainty that even if given the chance, no Muslim there would want to move to any Sharia-based country. The government of that country has every right to extend greetings on a major religious festival for 20% of its own population and 20% of the world’s population—there’s nothing wrong with that. I went to read the post with a certain expectation, and I found that my assumption was correct.

At a glance, it seemed that 80–90% of the comments there were from Bangladeshis, as usual in Bangla or “Murad Takla” language. Whether they understand anything or not, they assume they have at least managed to express their anger, threats, or advice to the Israeli government!

On May 24, 2015, I wrote an article about the revolutionary rise of an immature generation in Bangladesh. You will now find those same people everywhere—in schools, colleges, universities, social media, streets, and even in the comment boxes of international figures. Where ignorance, misinformation, pseudoscience, and religious blindness will ultimately lead them, it seems no longer possible to outline with a roadmap.

In May 2015, Mark Zuckerberg posted a very simple, homely picture with his Chinese-origin wife, Priscilla Chan. In Western culture, despite being billionaires, such a modest lifestyle is seen as completely normal. But a large portion of Bangladeshi netizens perceived it very differently. About 90% of the comments under that post were in Bangla (or Murad Takla), most of which were bizarre, judgmental, or absurd. For example: “Chinese products don’t last long,” “You couldn’t get anyone except a Chinese woman,” etc. There was heavy criticism of Priscilla Chan’s appearance and clothing. Many wrote, “What’s the use of so much money if you can’t even get a beautiful wife!” There were also free ‘advices’ on how Zuckerberg should live and how his wife should be taught to wear a sari. Comments like “Bro, please fix my ID” turned Zuckerberg’s comment section into something resembling a chaotic marketplace. From promoting YouTube channels to advertising clothing sales—nothing was left out!

Not just that one status alone. The same trend was observed in his subsequent statuses as well. Family photos after the birth of his first child (December 2015), a photo of a huge sculpture of his wife (August 2024), photos of his 10th wedding anniversary (May 25, 2022)—under many such pictures, they pounced with immense vigor. These bigoted, ignorant believers do not even know what to comment where, or whether there is any need to comment at all.

A large portion of the 90% bizarre comments made by the people of Bangladesh was later filtered or deleted by Mark Zuckerberg and his Facebook moderation team under “hate speech”, “spam”, and “bullying” policies. Many comments are no longer visible there.

In Bengali culture, there is an old habit of sitting in gossip circles or tea stalls and commenting on others. After the arrival of Facebook, that “tea stall gossip” has now become global, and infected in their brains is a bizarre thing called Islamic Science. From politics, sports, and the personal lives of celebrities to rocket science—they must provide their opinion on everything, whether they have knowledge on the subject or not. Each of them has dozens of fake IDs, and that too all under girls’ names. When the accessibility of technology blends with a lack of proper education, awareness, and productive work, it gives birth to all these “useless” cultures.

The brains of these fools are being washed by various religion-based political parties. Neither the Awami League nor the BNP ever had the political will or the technical capability before, nor do they have it now, to use technology to teach a large generation proper political lessons or history. This is why there is no shortage of people weeping on Facebook for a Razakar. There is no dearth of people spreading fake information on Facebook and causing a flood of it. Many blame women’s clothing for rape, and they have managed to make that quite popular. Even for minor criticism, they openly declare the murder of seculars. The government can do nothing because the governments have always indulged these fools, but the bigoted groups have taken up space in the heads of these fools.
