Human Quality Matters
In this era, a nation’s progress is not judged by the size of its population – it must be measured by its knowledge, science, education, and quality.
There may be a lot of criticism regarding Israel’s political practices, but there is no doubt about their influence in the world. This is their achievement. I am an admirer of their education, research, and far-reaching planning. They are at the top of the world in medical research; without even knowing it, some medical device of theirs might be saving your life right now. The Research and Development (R&D) departments of almost all the world’s top technology companies are located there. Verify it for yourself. Even the Payoneer and Elementor used by freelancers in Bangladesh are owned by them. Through the development of education and knowledge, they have managed to elevate their people to a level where almost all global superpowers, science and technology institutions, and major corporations depend on them.
In the past, many families in our country used to have 12 to 15 children. Among other reasons, they believed that having more children would increase their influence in the area and boost their workforce. Why did their influence increase back then? Because they had a higher number of sticks and more muscle power. But in this era, many families that command leadership and authority in society have only 2 to 5 members. How is this possible? Here lies the influence of intellect, the power of education, and the magic of science. Whether you consider it a clever strategy or shrewd diplomacy, none of it is possible without education and knowledge.
Take Kim Jong Un and his North Korea—they cannot provide food for their people, yet they possess nuclear bombs. Everyone fears their power; even a superpower like America deals with them cautiously. However, they have no influence in the world, absolutely none, and they play no role in global policymaking. What is the reason? The reason is that they lack education, knowledge, a compromising attitude, and proper diplomatic skills.
On the other hand, a tiny country like Israel, with a population of under 10 million, is the behind-the-scenes controller of the world. This is solely because of their education, knowledge, science, technology, and diplomatic skills. In this era, physical strength and military power are not of much use. Even with nuclear bombs, Pakistan will never be able to demonstrate the kind of economic and political influence that South Korea, Japan, or Germany possess. This is because no one uses Pakistan’s technology; they don’t have a company like South Korea’s Samsung, which is in the hands of most people around the world and has become an indispensable daily companion.
The sole purpose of saying all this is to address those in our country who constantly call for boycotts—boycotting this, boycotting that, boycotting Coca-Cola, boycotting India; those who take to the streets like swarms of locusts against France or to prevent Modi’s arrival; those who engage in vandalizing other people’s places of worship, homes, and shops. You have herds of people, you have sticks, you have fire—but you lack the influence that can guide a country, a society, or the world towards the path of light, knowledge, prosperity, and humanity. That is why everyone only looks at the number of your heads; they do not give you any importance because they know those heads lack brains.
Since the British era, you have been opposing modern education, yet your preferred religious education system is obsolete by global standards. In India, the government provides no subsidies to ‘Tols’ (traditional Sanskrit schools), and there are no government-run ‘Tols’ at all. Right after independence, India halted the expansion of ‘Tols.’ No one took to the streets to demand the preservation of ‘Tols.’ If you want to know what a ‘Tol’ is, search on Google. Today, the people of that very India are running all the biggest technology companies in the world—Microsoft, Google, Apple, Meta, all of them. The top tech talents in America are mostly Indian. Even in Bangladesh’s garments sector, many Indians work with monthly salaries of several lakh takas because they have that education and qualification. Yet, if plans are made to reform the same standard of education in Bangladesh, you will take to the streets in droves to create chaos. This is the reality. Your leaders are Asif Mahtab Utsha, Ahmadullah, Mamunul Huq, the Charmonai descendants, Abbasi, and Azhari. Dreaming of conquering the world with them is what you do.
In this era, nothing can be achieved with sticks, muscle power, or numbers. If you can, educate your loved ones; make everyone in your community skilled in knowledge, science, and technology. Draw people of other communities close by showing love, respect, and honor. You will see that you won’t have to propagate your ideology by force; others will naturally be inspired by your ideals and come to you. Becoming enlightened through knowledge and science is a relatively easier task, completely eliminating the risk of meeting an untimely, violent death.
If someone breaks the law, hand them over to the law. If the law does not work properly, protest and resist the injustice. But why would you attack someone who has done no wrong and is not infringing upon your rights? Do we insult you? Do we attack you? Yet, you insult us, physically attack us when given the chance, kill us, and threaten us. And when someone else does it, you don’t even protest.
A father intentionally loses a game of strength with his young son because it boosts the child’s self-confidence and builds trust in his own strength. Similarly, to prove your own superiority, sometimes you have to lose intentionally and create space for others. Ultimately, the benefit will be yours.
Do you know who profits by making you radical, keeping you ignorant, and unleasing you onto others? It benefits those who practice dirty politics and those who make a living out of the business of religion. They know they don’t earn an income themselves. You earn through hard work, sweating your brow in agriculture, business, or jobs. They take a share of your hard-earned income to ride in helicopters and organize rallies. You wouldn’t give it to them easily. Therefore, if they can keep you ignorant, radical, and in the dark, their prospects remain bright. Notice that they do not unleash you everywhere. They will set you against India or France, but they won’t do it against China. They calculate how easily they can weaponize your ignorance for their benefit and where deploying it will profit them.
Out of 10 million people, over a hundred have won the Nobel Prize, whereas among two billion people, fewer than ten have received it. Now, if you claim that the Nobel Committee is biased, while there might be a fraction of truth to it, making a blanket statement is nothing but the rambling of an ignorant mind. They keep these ignorant narratives popular among you just so you can wrap your ignorance in the comfort of these excuses and sleep well at night. The next day, you will go back to work and give them your saved money under this name or that name. Their ultimate goal is to directly or indirectly take a share of your hard-earned labor.
I know you won’t understand this. You will feel that whatever you are doing is right. They keep you drugged with opium in such a way that you will not value or pay attention to anyone else’s words. Yet, if you had been a little alert and strived to excel in education, knowledge, science, and technology, your superiority would have been established naturally. Everything cannot be achieved by physical force in this day and age. To be the best in this era, you must excel in education and technology—there is no alternative.
