The terrorists and mentally unstable individuals who should be in jail or a lunatic asylum are considered “Alems” and “Ulamas” in Bangladesh simply because of beards and caps. They ride helicopters and eat ghee and butter.

This Islamic militant claims to hold a doctorate. He supposedly earned a PhD from Darul Uloom Deoband in India. He calls himself a pir. He does not move without a helicopter. This Abbasi claims to be a descendant of Caliph Hazrat Abu Bakr. He has massive influence in Bangladesh and claims himself to be the chief or grand mufti of the country. As the saying goes, “Was good before, still good now, always good”—if that phrase had a face, Abbasi Sahib would be its poster child! Abbasi Sahib was fully protected during the Awami League era, freely issuing takfiri fatwas against anyone. He was protected even during Inu Chagur’s time. Abbasi Sahib is still protected today. He was the first in Bangladesh to introduce the luxury of flying by helicopter to give sermons. Little madrasa children burn in the sun collecting money so that he can ride helicopters. So what do people actually learn from him?

He publicly glorifies abusers of women. When Ornov ( https://www.facebook.com/reel/970402415192941 ) was arrested by police for sexually harassing a woman on the Dhaka University campus, he led a mob to attack the police station and freed Ornov by placing flower garlands around his neck. https://youtu.be/sBAnHLZ-CRE R.I.P. women’s rights! In his view, if women are “naked” (i.e., dressed without hijab, which they consider naked), then sexually harassing them becomes permissible.

Abbasi figures in all eras grease the palms of political gods. It is hard—but not impossible—to understand whose side they speak for at what time. They thrive by drinking milk even in the age of the Sun God. Their biggest contribution is creating a completely unproductive, reactionary, jihad-minded population that is utterly unnecessary for the country. At day’s end, flying helicopters, eating korma-pulao, and earning millions are their main activities, while in exchange they tell people stories about prophets living in huts and surviving half-fed.

There is a case against Abbasi for illegally occupying government railway land. In July 2019, Md. Iqbal Mahmud, Kanungo of Bangladesh Railway Dhaka Divisional Estate Office, filed the case. According to the case statement, accused Enayet Ullah Abbasi (Jainpuri Pir), Obayed Ullah Abbasi, and Niamat Ullah Abbasi—sons of late Nasir Ullah Abbasi of Pathantuli area in Siddhirganj—illegally filled and constructed semi-permanent structures on railway land east of the railway track near Hajiganj Level Crossing under Siddhirganj Police Station, Narayanganj district. Despite local resistance, they continued illegal construction. A year earlier, they also illegally built a tin-shed market on railway land. Abbasi’s brother Niamat Ullah Abbasi was arrested with firearms (a gun) on August 1, 2019. Under Enayet Ullah Abbasi’s leadership, they attacked the HN Apparels garment factory in Pathantuli in a militant manner by breaking the wall and entering inside. A photo of Enayet Ullah Abbasi, holding a revolver with an SMG, taken in militant style, went viral on Facebook and in various media, causing widespread uproar. He preaches what he claims is Islam. According to him, if you seize Hindu homes, oppress them, take their property, or even kill a non-believer, Allah will punish you but will not send you to hell. This, he claims, is Islamic doctrine. To Allah, the lives and property of believers and infidels are not of equal value. Is it any wonder that crowds gather by the thousands within moments during attacks on Hindus? Their conscience is clean. They know very well that there will be no punishment for this in this world or the next. Abbasies perform this “cleansing of conscience” at sermons. Saying that killing one person is like killing all of humanity is useless nonsense to them. This “human” only refers to Muslim believers—no one else.

He announces such things publicly and tells people to shout in support! He claims Stephen Hawking received two Nobel Prizes for discovering the Big Bang! It’s not enough to talk only about inhumane beheadings and attacks on Hindus—without smoking hash, one cannot become such an Abbasi.

In reality, Einstein was of Jewish origin, an atheist, and had no interest in the Quran whatsoever. Where do these tout mullahs get such absurd misinformation? And then people collect donations to pay him 50,000 taka per hour and fly him by helicopter just to listen to him! This is how science is promoted in Bangladesh! What could be more unfortunate for a nation?

If you support this herd-minded, goat-PhD-turned-helicopter huzur and accept what he says, then even if you receive a scholarship in Europe or America, your visa could be canceled if someone complains. The civilized world considers supporters of such people dangerous to their countries.

The day the people of this country learn to recognize these thugs, the day they learn to resist them—that day will mark the beginning of Bangladesh’s true progress.
