The Inhumane Punishments of Islam
Teen girl imprisoned by the Taliban for refusing to marry a 70‑year‑old man! What the Taliban are doing – that is exactly Islam!
A 14-year-old girl named Bibi Sediqa in Afghanistan has been kept imprisoned and tortured for almost two years because she refused to marry a 70-year-old influential Taliban commander. Reported by Daily Mail – news link in the comments. This is not the only case; in Afghanistan, news has repeatedly surfaced in the international arena about retaliatory actions and imprisonment of women by the Taliban administration for protesting against forced and underage marriages or for rejecting marriage proposals from influential Taliban commanders.
Since the Taliban came to power in Afghanistan in 2022, one after another strict restrictions and laws have been imposed on women. These include stopping female education beyond primary school, banning women’s participation in the workplace, and imposing strict restrictions on movement without a male guardian or ‘mahram’. Under the current system of governance in Afghanistan, incidents of forced marriage and marrying girls at a very young age have increased significantly. In particular, rejecting marriage proposals made at will by influential commanders is creating extreme security risks for local women and their families.

So then, which of the beauties of Afghanistan, the Taliban, Allah, the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), the Qur’an, and Hadith will you deny? And don’t say again that the Taliban do not know Islam. What the Taliban are doing is the core Islam, it is the Islam of Prophet Muhammad; the Prophet Muhammad himself left countless precedents of this kind in his own time.
What happens if someone denies even a slight part of Islamic creed—learn that from the mouth of the Grand Mufti of Bangladesh. No one can remain within Islam, let alone criticize any part of Islam; there is not even the slightest scope for doubt.
In Islam there is no fixed marriageable age for girls. No means no, there is no scope for twisting this. Many scholars, citing the example of the Prophet Muhammad marrying Aisha at the age of 6 and consummating the marriage at the age of 9, say that girls can be married at 6 and sexual relations can be had with them at 9. But this is not a ruling of Islam, it is just a bit of politeness.
In Islam, child marriage is not only permissible, sexual intercourse with them is also permissible. For this you have to look at two verses of the Qur’an. You will not understand by looking at just one. You have to read 33:49 and 65:4 together. What do we understand? If divorce takes place before intercourse, there is no need to observe ‘iddah, but for those whose period has not yet started, the ‘iddah is three months! Meaning, if intercourse takes place with those who are minors, their ‘iddah will be three months. If you do not understand, look at the explanations of the renowned commentators of the Qur’an.
That marrying small children is permissible, and what Aisha’s age was at the time of marriage—see the authentic hadith on this: Sahih al-Bukhari (Tawheed Publications) 5133.
More important than what you are saying is what the renowned Islamic scholars and commentators of the Qur’an are saying. In the famous commentary ‘Tafheem-ul-Qur’an’, in point number 13 of Surah at-Talaq, Sayyid Abul A‘la Maududi has clearly stated that marriage and intercourse with children are completely permissible –
… Therefore, describing the ‘iddah of those girls whose menstruation has not yet started clearly proves that at this age marrying girls is not only permissible, but seclusion with the husband and intercourse with her are also permissible. Now it is clear that what the Qur’an has declared permissible, no Muslim has the right to declare forbidden.
This is what Islam says – whether you accept it or not is a different matter, but you cannot say that “these things are not in Islam.” The Grand Muftis of Saudi Arabia have also clearly stated this in response to a question on the matter; it is in this link.
If you say that such practices existed socially in that era, then also accept this—that Islam and the Prophet Muhammad are applicable only to that era, and now not everything of Islam and the Prophet Muhammad can be followed. Remember, the moment you say this, you become a kafir, a murtad (apostate). Learn what the punishment for apostasy is in Islam. Islam cannot be edited; the moment you try to edit it, you become a murtad. If you harbor even the slightest doubt about anything related to the Prophet Muhammad, you become a “shatim-e-Rasul” (one who insults the Messenger)—do you know the punishment for shatim-e-Rasul? They have no forgiveness; even if they repent and seek forgiveness, they cannot escape that ultimate punishment. There are 101 ways to enter Islam, but there is no way to leave Islam; there, a merciless death awaits you!
Therefore, child marriage and sexual intercourse with children are completely permissible in Islam – period! That too according to the Qur’an; authentic hadiths are there as well, again full stop. Now, after this, go ahead and discover logical justifications—i.e., twisted reasoning—about why child marriage and sexual intercourse with them should be seen as justified.
