Islamic rulings related to discrimination, hatred, humiliation, and inhumanity toward women

Islam’s discrimination and inhumanity towards women in the Qur’an –

In inheritance, a son receives double that of a daughter. [4:11]
In testimony, the testimony of two women equals that of one man. [2:282]
In some cases, women’s testimony is not accepted at all. [4:15]
Men are permitted to marry multiple wives. [4:3]
A woman is a man’s tilth; a man may approach her however he wishes. [2:223]
The author of the Qur’an thought that “human” means only “man”, and that woman has been adorned for him; woman is an object of enjoyment for him. [3:14]
The purpose of creating woman is for man’s entertainment and to relieve his weariness. [7:189]
A man may beat his wife as much as he wishes so long as he does not break her bones. [4:34]
If a husband divorces his wife and then wants to marry her again, she must be given in a humiliating halala (tahlil) marriage. [2:230]
Underage girls may be married off and sexual intercourse with them is also allowed. [65:4, 33:49]

In countless hadiths, women have been despised, dishonoured, and subjected to terrible discrimination in Islam –

It is said that baby girls used to be buried alive, who were innocent and victims of brutality – yet they too are supposedly destined for Hell! [Sunan Abu Dawud – Islamic Foundation – 4642]
Women’s knowledge and intellect are less than men’s; they are defective in knowledge and intellect. [Sahih Muslim – Islamic Foundation – 145]
In Islam, there is no opportunity for women to hold leadership. [Sahih Bukhari – Islamic Foundation – 6618, Sunan at-Tirmidhi (authenticated) – 2262]
Women may not be given responsibilities such as judge or minister. [Jumaadaa Al-Oula 13, 1428]

Women are like animals and inauspicious; they are blamed for childlessness and domestic unrest. [Sahih Bukhari – Tawheed Pub. – 6753]
Women are like horses; they are inauspicious. [Sahih Muslim – Islamic Foundation – 5613]
Woman is like a black dog, equivalent to Satan, because of whom a man’s prayer is invalidated. [Sunan Ibn Majah – Tawheed Pub. – 952]

The man who marries the most women is the best person. [Sahih Bukhari – Islamic Foundation – 4703]

When a husband dies, the wife must observe ‘iddah and mourning, but when the wife dies, the husband need not mourn; he may remarry the next day if he wishes. [IslamQA Fatwa 20/479]
Women who use perfume are prostitutes. [Hadith Sambhar (Wahidiyyah) – 2659, 2661]
It is haram for women to adorn themselves or enhance their beauty. [Sahih Muslim – Islamic Foundation – 5388]

Women are forbidden to walk in the middle of the road and must walk along the edges, even if their clothes and bodies get torn. [Sunan Abu Dawud – Islamic Foundation – 5182]
Houris are more valuable for husbands than their wives; the houris curse the wives. [Mishkat al-Masabih (Mishkat) – 3258]
Islam supports the vile practice of keeping women as sexual slaves as spoils of war. [Sahih Muslim – Islamic Foundation – 3477]
In Islam, female war captives may be given as sexual slaves as gifts; the Prophet Muhammad gave a sexual slave to his daughter’s husband for intercourse. [Sahih Bukhari – Tawheed Pub. – 4350]
In Islam, it is lawful to sell women as sexual slaves. [Sahih Bukhari – Islamic Foundation – 2088]
If a man rapes a woman, he can settle the matter by paying the mahr. [Muwatta Malik – Islamic Foundation – 1435]
A wife may not disobey her husband’s words. [Hadith Sambhar (Wahidiyyah) – 2546]

Besides these, there are countless other verses and hadiths where women are directly subjected to discrimination. There are many fatwas on this as well. Multiple statements by Islamic scholars present women in a degrading manner. But there is supposedly no way to blame the mullahs, because they only say what is said in Islam.
