Barbaric punishments in the name of Islam

May these barbaric and inhuman practices in the name of punishment be abolished from the world

When civilized countries have abolished/are abolishing the death penalty, some countries in the world still maintain these barbaric forms of punishment. The sad thing is that most people in our country want these punishments to be enforced. Fun fact is these are not punishments for rape. They are punishments for adultery, extramarital relationships. Many lament that these should be enforced in our country for at least one year. Then all those moderates, the so-called refined youth who defend these punishments will learn a lesson, especially the moderate women who support them will face extreme consequences. No one will then be able to fall in love, no boy/girl will be able to go out together, no woman will be able to talk to another man, no one will be able to wear perfume — as per Islamic instructions. At every step, in every action, everyone will have to follow others’ orders and restrictions, especially women will need family consent to go outside, and must take someone along. Personal wishes or unwillingness will have no value. Only then will they understand what freedom of speech and personal liberty means.

This video is so barbaric that posting it here is very painful. But in countries like Afghanistan, these are very normal where they claim Islamic law is enforced! It should be specially mentioned that the world’s most dangerous drugs like heroin and opium are produced the most in this Afghanistan.

You may think such punishments for rapists would be good. But such inhuman processes are not desirable for anyone. And in those countries usually no one seeks justice for rape. Because according to Islamic instructions, the victim must produce four male witnesses to prove it, which is almost impossible and unrealistic. In such cases, there are many examples where the victim herself was accused of zina/adultery and given cruel punishment. In the Middle East, countless women have been unjustly punished in such incidents. If you search, you will find many such reports.

There are hundreds of videos/photos of these inhuman and cruel punishment processes. Beyond that, thousands of such incidents remain unknown to people in other countries. Here, punishments are given for many things that are not crimes at all; they want to control people’s personal freedom and dignity. Who will go out with whom, who will sleep with whom, what clothes one will wear — these are completely personal rights. But in these countries and societies, they are strictly controlled. They do these things in the name of Islam. In the Quran and Hadith of Islam, these are instructed in many places.

Farkhunda Malikzada, a 27-year-old Muslim woman falsely accused of burning a Quran, was beaten to death by a mob in central Kabul while hundreds watched and filmed. In the video below, the so-called crime of 19-year-old girl Roksana was that she ran away to marry the man she loved. Her family had arranged her marriage with another man against her will. The boy she ran away with was punished with a few cane strikes, while Roksana’s punishment was to be buried up to her neck and stoned to death.

This woman was stoned to death because she loved someone.

After this unfortunate woman was buried up to her neck and stoned to death, it was revealed that under their so-called law she was actually innocent!

Beyond these, in some tribes of Pakistan there are examples of such barbarity where if a woman marries against her family’s will, a male member of her family rapes a female member of her lover’s family. Rape in exchange for rape is very common in many places.

Islam is claimed by its followers to be a religion of peace. But our point is that under the banner of a religion of peace, these barbaric and inhuman practices in the name of punishment should be abolished from the world.
