Is ISKCON truly something dangerous for Bangladesh?

The Aggression of ISKCON! Is it Real?

After watching a YouTube video by an expatriate journalist, many people have recently started jumping to conclusions – saying ISKCON has devoured Bangladesh! That ISKCON will turn Bangladesh into India!

Back when I entered high school, around 1993, the most widely read newspaper in the country was Daily Inqilab. They were fiercely anti-India. From 1996 to 2001, they published daily columns that made it seem like the government had sold the country to India. Anyway, that’s the government’s success – selling a country every year. The buyer is the fool, buying the same thing again and again. Even now, Bangladesh is sold to India every day.

In the 1960s, a yogi from West Bengal went to New York City. There, he began promoting the teachings of Krishna. His name was Srila Prabhupada. He is the founder of ISKCON – the International Society for Krishna Consciousness – which has spread its branches worldwide. Today, ISKCON has millions of devotees, admirers, and workers across the globe. Not just in Bangladesh, but in busy areas of major cities in America and Europe, they perform with drums and cymbals. Many foreigners have embraced their philosophy and joined their movement. ISKCON is essentially a refined version of the original Vaishnav tradition of Lord Chaitanya from Bengal’s Gauda region. Globally, they feed people – not just in Sylhet, Bangladesh.

There are two religions in the world where one cannot become a follower without being born into it – Sanatan Dharma and Judaism. ISKCON breaks this rigidity and allows anyone to enter Sanatan Dharma. Nothing in the world is above criticism. Every ideology has its good and bad sides. There is darkness, and there is guidance toward light. There are many aspects that conflict with modern science and verified history. ISKCON may have such elements too. However, after several days of online research, I found no evidence of terrorist activity or militant links associated with ISKCON. So we can assume that, like many other religious organizations in Bangladesh, they are primarily a religious and social group. As long as a belief system or ideology does not harm others or violate anyone’s rights, everyone has the full right to believe in it, express faith, and promote it. If ISKCON does not harm anyone or obstruct anyone’s path, then they too have the right to carry out their activities like others.

Many people are using the ISKCON issue to divert attention from Bangladesh’s core problems. Corruption, terrorism, and the severe moral decline of people-these are the real realities of Bangladesh today. If the ongoing campaign for political cleansing is carried out properly, it could bring positive change to Bangladesh. There’s no need to jump around shouting “ISKCON! ISKCON!”

In this era, one country taking over another is quite unrealistic. However, one country can intellectually dominate another. That is the failure of the country that becomes intellectually bankrupt.
