Islam and the Rights of Non-Muslims

What are the rights of non-Muslims in an Islamic State?

“Lakum dinukum waliya deen” – “For you is your religion, and for me is my religion”

Do not exaggerate your religion.

Surah 109:6 says “Lakum dinukum waliya deen” – “For you is your religion, and for me is my religion.” However, there are 2/4 verses in the Quran where it seems that Islam is very tolerant of other religions. Those who have not read the Quran, Hadiths entirely, and their meaning, tarjama, and tafseer (explanation from Islamic scholars) can think so. They again say to know the Surah’s Shan-e-Nuzool of the Quran or to know the context of its revelation. But when they quote all these 2/4 verses and hide dozens of terrible verses, on the other hand, they do not think to know their background. It is tough to understand the continuity of revelation of the Surahs of the Qur’an, the life of Prophet Muhammad in Makkah, and the life of Madinah. For you is your religion, and for me is my religion and religion cannot be exaggerated – these were said only when Islam was attacked by people of other religions, all these verses came for the sake of Islam’s own survival from others. But when Islam attacked others and won then the verses were different, then it was said to attack others, to hate them, to forbid friendship, and if necessary to kill them.

On the other hand, see

2:191

“And kill them wherever you overtake them and expel them from wherever they have expelled you, and fitnah is worse than killing. And do not fight them at al-Masjid al-Haram until they fight you there. But if they fight you, then kill them. Such is the recompense of the disbelievers.”

In Islam, non-Muslims are the worst creatures, the lowest of creation, equal to sewer worms. Apostates, critics of the Prophet are called to be killed. Even if the critic of the Prophet repents, he is not spared from this punishment.

Page after page of the Quran is full of contempt, abuse, and curses towards non-Muslims. Please take time to read these verses with meaning, tarjama, and tafseer 2:7, 2:10, 2:15, 2:17, 2:26, 2:88, 2:161, 3:61, 3:87, 3:178, 4:46-47, 4:88, 4:115, 4:143, 4:155, 5:13, 5:14, 5:41, 5:49, 5:60, 5:64, 5:67, 6:25, 6:110, 6:123 … etc.

Islam believes in peaceful co-existence, as long as Muslims remain a minority or oppressed under the motto of ‘Lakum dinukum waliya deen’. When Muslims are in the majority, they demand Sharia law, demand Jizya tax from non-Muslims (it is a type of tax that non-Muslims can be killed if they don’t pay), treat non-Muslims as second-class citizens, and want to take over the governance of the country.

I gave a link – Rights of non-Muslims in an Islamic Sharia state. Please read the whole thing carefully. Much detail is discussed there.

The Qur’an contains various taunts about non-Muslims. It is mentioned below with the number of surah and verse. You can open the Quran yourself and compare the Surah and Verse numbers. Please read with meaning, tarjama, and tafseer. If the Quran is to be obeyed then the non-Muslims must be treated as such, because it is in the Quran. Is it possible in the reality of the present world? What does your own conscience say in this case? Fun fact is that in Islam, non-Muslims are told to hate, curse, and befriend them all the time, but Muslims today cannot go through a day without the help of technology invented by those non-Muslims from morning to night.

A person born in a Muslim family or previously converted to Islam, if he later converts to another religion or becomes humanist, agnostic, or atheist, is punishable by death in Islam. If anyone criticizes the Prophet Muhammad even a little, even if he questions or doubts any of his (Muhammad’s) decisions, even if one disagrees with his opinion, he becomes a Shatim-e-Rasul in the eyes of Islam. And the punishment of the Shatim is killing. There is no opportunity to show him any forgiveness or compassion in Islam.

It is the moral duty of every sane person in the world to criticize where such heinous barbarism exists.
